Somebody who sounded American with a southern accent left a voice mail for me. Like I said he sounded very professional with a southern accent saying he was with the County Sheriffs Department. He said (in a very professional manner) that a jury summons fail to appear notice was sent to me back in July, at a previous address. He was able to give me my two previous addresses. He asked for me by name. After speaking with him, he said I was an upstanding citizen and the fine would be dropped. However due to the "Computer System Upgrade" he was unable to dismiss this 'civil matter' over the phone. He gave me his name as Sgt Sellick.
We set up a time to meet at the county courthouse to pay the fine and then have it dismissed, get reimbursed like it never happened. He also said bring two pieces of ID for verification. I went to the courthouse to meet with him. The sheriff deputy at the x-ray and metal detector told me this is a scam.
Now they have my real phone number, which I don't use to scambait.
